Do Your Neighbor A Favor, Invest In Bathroom Window Curtains!

OK, so I go to visit my boyfriend in Charleston, SC for the first time.  The relationship is new, so I'm still in the "have to look perfect at all times" stage.  So after partying all night, and getting in at 3 in the morning, I sneakily wait until every one has fallen fast asleep.  Then I sneak into the downstairs half bath and begin to wash, set, and dry my hair so that my boy toy will think that I'm fabulous 24 hours a day.  My hair is super thick mind you, so once it has completed drying, hours have passed, and daylight has begun to peek its way through the window.  My boyfriend doesn't have any bathroom window curtains, but this doesn't bother me as his downstairs bathroom faces what I thought was only his backyard.  So I continue to do my hair in the mirror, going as fast as I possibly can before daylight wakes everyone up.  Taking the rollers out, blow drying the roots, and flat ironing to perfection.  I'm doing all of this with absolutely no clothes on mind you.  By the time I finish, it has been daylight outside for at least 2 hours now.  Then I see a movement outside of the window!  I'm totally embarrassed because I quickly assumed that my boyfriend had waken up and was playing a trick on me!  But to my further embarrassment, it was a little 80 year old man across the way who could see clearly into the bathroom!  I was horrified!  How long had he been there?!  Why didn't I realize that you could see into a neighbors backyard before this point?!  I quickly dressed, and ran to wake my boyfriend up with an order that sounded like it was coming from the lips of a woman whom had been married to this man for 10 years.  "GO GET SOME BATHROOM WINDOW CURTAINS NOW!"

Bathroom Window Curtains: Privacy, Fashion, & Affordability

Yes, bathroom window curtains are for more than just fashion. Although it is nice to have window curtains for the bathroom that match your decor, you will simply have more piece of mind knowing that you aren't the reason your 80 year old neighbor sees something he hasn't seen in a loooooong time! But while you are covering up, you might as well display your decorative side as well. If you know interior design, then you know that there are a plethora of options when it comes to decorating a home. The same is so with the amount of options there are when it comes to choosing the perfect set of bathroom window curtains. There are tons of websites that offer photos of different ideas you can try out. If you can sew, there are also tons on how to do it your self books if you prefer to experiment this way. Because bathroom window curtains are also very affordable, you will have a field day picking and choosing between your options.

Tips For Choosing The Perfect Fit For Your Bathroom

One thing to consider when choosing bathroom window curtains is the length.  If you get them so long that they are touching the floor, you will run into the obvious problem of uncleanliness.  Our bathrooms are in my opinion the dirtiest room in the house.  Hair is always on the floor, water is always splashing, and who knows what else goes on in the bathroom before you get to clean.  So make sure your curtains do not touch the floor.  Another tip is to make sure that you pick a fabric that can be washed.  If you pick a dry clean only fabric you will spend a lot of time and money keeping them clean.  Another helpful tip to consider is buying bathroom window curtains that only cover the top half.  If you do this you wont feel as if your bathroom is "over-powered" by curtains.   And of course, don't forget to color coordinate.

So friends, if you have a bathroom inside your home that does not have bathroom window curtains, I encourage you to make this addition to your home as soon as possible.  Trust me, this is an investment that will be well worth the  prevention of embarrassment!
