Best Options for Lengthening Your Lashes
Mascara - If you have fairly decent lashes that just need a slight extension, then you can achieve this with a good mascara. Do not underestimate the power of a great mascara. L'ore'al Paris has an excellent 2 step formula that coats each lash with a fortifying formula giving them an initial lengthening, and then step 2 which colors them and adds even more length. The first time I used this mascara, my co-workers all asked if I had eyelash extensions on!
Prescription Formula - If you have lashes that are genetically thin and don't grow to their full potential then you should take a look at the Latisse prescription formula. This is actually the 1st ever FDA approved prescription formula that actually makes your lashes GROW. It makes each lash fuller and darker.
Magic Juice - The LiLash formula is actually called magic juice as you apply it as you would apply eyeliner. Give it 4-6 weeks and your lashes will reach their optimum beauty. Lilash is great to use in conjunction with eyelash extensions as well because it makes your natural lashes stronger so that they provide more support to the extensions.
Eyelash Extensions - Definitely try one of the above products first before considering extensions. The above products have been proven to work, and may give you all the lengthening you desire. If you do still desire to try eyelash extensions then you will still be pleasantly surprised, as they look 100% natural and give you that lady look from "The lady and the tramp"! If you don't mind having them re-applied every few weeks then this is a great option for you.
Extention Talk
Eyelash extensions are definitely the hottest new accessory. They look so real, that no one will EVER assume any different. When it comes to beauty, one of my favorite celebrities is Kim Kardashian. Say what you want about her, but the girl has style! Even down to her pretty lashes. If yours are less than perfect or you simply want them to be more lush, then extensions are the way for you to get Kim K eyes immediately. More often than not, a seductive set of eyes has nothing to do with the color, but everything to do with the length of the lashes. Eyelash extensions can create a long, luscious, look that will have people wondering what foods you are eating to have such luscious lashes! I've always had a problem being comfortable with fake eyelashes because of the fact that they look So fake. Lash extensions solve that problem. Getting them has become very popular, due to the fact that they add length, and thicken your natural lashes, and they do so in the most undetectable way. They are individual pieces of faux lashes that are shaped to look just like your real eyelashes. Each piece is then applied individually to each of your natural eyelashes. This creates the most natural, undetectable set of gorgeous eyelashes. Eyelash Extensions are best for anytime of the year, and any sort of occasion. How do the lashes look when applied? If the lash extensions have been applied correctly, by the method of individually applying each synthetic lash to each natural lash, you can expect to have extremely natural looking eyelashes. None of your friends will realize that you have gotten extensions. Your friends will assume that you've simply been taking great care of your lashes, or have found a great new mascara! And that's what I love about eyelash extensions. They look so real, that people don't assume they are fake, they simply assume that you must be eating really well, or have a great mascara! How long will your extensions last? If they are properly applied, the lashes will last just as long as the growth cycle of your natural eyelashes. Yes because no one has the same bodily make up, your experience may be a tad different, and can also be based on factors such as your normal day to day activities. But all in all, the average person should only need a touch up every 2-3 weeks. Also take note that the liquid used to bond the lashes doesn't have any irritants, and is waterproof. When should you go back for a touch up? It is highly recommended that you get your eyelash extensions touched up between every 2-3 weeks. Going over the 2-3 weeks normally will cause you to need a completely new set, where as if you get your touch ups as you are supposed to, you can avoid this. Keep in mind that a persons natural eyelashes come out every forty five to sixty days. This is because of the natural cycle your lashes grow in. Once these lashes fall out, they are replaced with new lashes. Also keep in mind that if you touch your eyes frequently, or give your self frequent steam facials, that you may need a touch up even sooner. When you go to get a touch up, it was take about forty five minutes. Can you use mascara with your extensions? Well, when you see how fabulously luscious your lashes are with your eyelash extensions, you will see that mascara isn't needed, but yes, it is fine to use mascara. The only precaution is that the mascara can only be the kind that is water based. If you use a water proof, or oil based formula, you will actually dissolve your extensions, and cause them to come out quickly. The same rules apply whenever you are removing your mascara. Only use a water based make up remover. Is it ok for active people to get eyelash extensions? Yes. The waterproof formula used to make the lashes adhere to your natural lashes will get you through your most active of times. The only precaution to take is to keep your eye area away from water for the first 12- 24 hours after the lashes have been applied. Can I use an eyelash curler? The use of an eyelash curler is not recommend, nor is it needed. (just like mascara). Eyelash curlers will actually do more harm than good to your lashes, and could lead to damage. If you insist, the only type recommended is a heated eyelash curler.
What should be my daily routine?
- Don't let lashes get near water, steam, or sauna for 24 hours
- Refrain from rubbing your eyes
- If you must use mascara or makeup remover, only use one that has a water base, and only put it on from mid shaft to the tip (don't put on roots)
- Don't use an average eyelash curler
- Don't use a perm on your lashes
- If you have a nervous habit of pulling at your lashes, stop it immediately
Are eyelash extensions FDA approved? At the moment the FDA does not regulate the use of them. They do not touch the skin, and are only applied to your eyelashes themselves. It will be a totally relaxing experience as it doesn't hurt in any way. I even fell asleep when having mine done for the first time. As with anything, just be sure to use someone who is Certified in the application of lash extensions. How long will the process take? It wont take any longer than forty five minute to one and a half hours for your extensions to be applied. You can expect to lie down just as your would if you were receiving a spa treatment. A gel pad will be placed under your eyes to cover your lower eyelashes . Then the process of applying the extensions will begin. The specialist will apply an extension to each individual eyelash hair. Are there several looks to choose from? Yes. As a matter of fact, there are several lengths and thickness's for you to choose from. Keep in mind that if will be up to your specialist to determine if your particular eyelashes are strong enough to hold a particular style. Whichever you choose, you will be a fan of Eyelash Extensions for life!
